Data we collect
When you submit the contact form we receive your name, email address, optional engagement preference, preferred start date, scope notes, and message content. Server logs may record IP address, browser type, and pages visited. Cookie data is described on our cookies page.
Purposes
We use inquiry data to respond to engagement requests, prepare fee estimates, and maintain records of correspondence. Log and analytics data (if accepted) help us understand which pages are useful and to keep the site secure.
Legal bases
Processing of inquiry data is based on steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract and on our legitimate interest in operating a professional practice. Cookie analytics run only with consent where required.
Retention
Unsuccessful inquiries are retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymized. If an engagement letter is signed, personal data needed for the engagement file follows the retention schedule in that letter and applicable professional standards, often seven years or longer for audit working papers.
Recipients
Data stays within Smartnetlab unless we use a hosting or email provider acting as a processor under instruction. We do not sell personal data. Courts or regulators may receive data when Taiwanese law requires disclosure.
International transfers
Our primary operations are in Taiwan. If a processor stores data outside Taiwan, we require contractual safeguards appropriate to the destination and the nature of the data.
Your rights
Subject to Taiwanese personal data protection law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. To exercise rights, email info@smartnetlab.digital. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority in Taiwan.
Security
We apply access controls and staff confidentiality expectations to inquiry mailboxes. No method of transmission is perfectly secure; please avoid sending passwords or full identity numbers through the website form.
Updates
We may revise this policy by updating this page. Material changes will be reflected by a revised posting date when available.
